Since 1977, Ottensteiner Kunststoff has processed ultra high, very high and high molecular weight polyethylene in both pressed and machined form. At first only ski-soles were produced and then, a little later, finished parts for the food and machining industry.
Production and storage facility is now over 18,000 m2 in total situated at two locations.

Our computer controlled presses have the following platen sizes:-
We are capable of pressing sheets from thickness 6 mm - 350 mm (¼ ins. to 14 ins.).
Our monthly press production capacity is approximately 800 tons (63,000 qt.) of which 50% is also machined and fabricated.

In addition to the press facility, we also have a large finishing plant with modern computer aided CNC-turning lathes, and CNC-router machines with table sizes up to 5,900 mm x 2,800 mm (19 ft 4 ins x 9 ft 3 ins.), as well as profiling machines, table routers, CNC lathes, etc.
The machine shop now has 17 CNC machines with 3 and 5 axes.
We have more than 170 employees and “turned over” EUR 26 million in the calendar year 2008.
All this enables us to produce even the most complicated finished parts according to customer specifications.
Our polyethylene materials can be used for various applications in many industries where good gliding properties and abrasion resistance is required.
We are particularly proud of our Joint Venture with John Thorpe (NOICEONE LTD). The development of our special grade of Very High Molecular Weight Pe resin – OKULEN 700 – has allowed John to formulate an exceptionally good material, specifically for the purpose of simulating “ice” skating. His synthetic “ice” panel skating system has the protection of the registered Trade Mark:-

In mid 1995, we started to machine moulded parts made of PVDF and PTFE. Subsequently, these products have developed into our second most important market.
We also process other plastics such as PP, POM, PA etc. for different fields of application as well as characteristics (mechanical, thermal values, etc..).

Our sales split is 60% export and 40% in Germany.
Since March 1996 we have been accredited with the Quality System: DIN ISO 9001.
